About me:
Julie Epp
Hi! I'm Julily!
I know that art is one of those things we all experience as a child and often leave it in childhood. The great news is so many of us come back to learn later in life!
As a child I was obsessed with stationary and supplies and to this day I still can't spend less than $50 at any supply shop! In addition to my stationary obsession, I also wanted to teach more than anything. What I didn't realize at the time was that I'd be teaching art soon enough!
My own journey as an artist really started in 11th grade when I was told I could either take a co-ed gym class where I was the only girl, or take art. The decision seemed obvious even if I never drew again in my life. But I did, and it was all I did for the rest of high school. I went on to study fine art in university and travelled down the long and exciting path of informal arts education! Woo!
And then COVID-19 hit and it all came crashing down.
I lost my cushy full-time city job in April of 2020. After some months of self-discovery I realized how my role in coordinating other people kept me from making a difference in people's artistic journey. I knew I needed to find a new way to reach people.
Now I teach online and in-person classes for artists age 6-99! My mission is to help students discover their own passion for creating and support them technically and emotionally through the journey of self-expression.
