ABOUT
Born in 1992, Julie Epp is a Vancouver-based painter known for her pop-surrealistic figurative portraits. Her artworks seamlessly blend elements of plants, animals, insects, and flowers. Influenced by art nouveau, historical and mythical narratives, as well as science and nature, Julie draws inspiration from both old masters and contemporary artists. This influence has shaped her artistic journey, prompting a continuous exploration of techniques and ideas derived from these sources.
Each of Julie's paintings serves as a reflection of the thoughts and emotions she undergoes throughout the creative process. Her fascination with the beauty of women serves as a conduit for exploring feminist concepts, all while she remains dedicated to producing visually stunning and vibrant pieces.
Julie Epp earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley in B.C., Canada. Her artistic endeavors extend beyond local boundaries, as she actively participates in national and international exhibitions. Currently residing and working in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Julie's art captivates audiences with its unique blend of surrealism and feminist exploration.
