MY STORY

Julie Epp is a Canadian artist from Metro Vancouver, who goes by the alias Julily. Her work bridges painting and ceramics and her watercolour paintings explore portraiture, nature, and surreal imagery. She draws inspiration from mythology, storytelling, and personal experiences, creating intimate works on paper that invite viewers into dreamlike yet grounded worlds.

Julie began painting in childhood, finding in art a place of calm and self-expression. As a child, whenever her parents noticed the quiet from her room and asked what she was up to, Julie would simply answer, ‘making!’—a word that has carried through her life as both a habit and a calling. Over time, her practice has grown to include teaching workshops in watercolour, clay, and printmaking, where she encourages others to discover the therapeutic and imaginative side of making.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries featured in solo, duo, and group shows, and shared through online platforms. Alongside her personal practice, Julie continues to develop classes, stories, and new bodies of work, with the goal of connecting art to both personal reflection and shared experience.
