In this series Colourfield Landscapes, I explore the relationship between color and emotion, translating the serenity of natural landscapes into abstract compositions. Each painting is a meditation on tranquility, where the vivid hues and harmonious frames work together to create a sense of calm. My intention is to capture not just the essence of a place, but the feeling it evokes—whether it’s the warmth of a sunset, the intensity of a thick forest, or the stillness of a lake.
 
The small scale of these works invites the viewer to pause and engage closely, offering a moment of introspection amidst the busyness of daily life. Each piece is unique, reflecting the diversity of nature and the countless ways it can be interpreted. Each frame is also painted to match the painting, extending the art from the borders in the frame outward to include the frame itself. 
 
These pieces were a therapy for me as I made them, having recently lost a close family member. My hope is that these works are a source of tranquility for the viewer. There is a sense of peace and a burst of color into the spaces they inhabit, encouraging a deeper connection with the world around us, but open to our own interpretation of it.
